Welcome to Poquoson Chiropractic Clinic
Chiropractic is absolutely one of the most amazing healthcare professions, but very few people understand what it’s really all about. Schedule an appointment today and let Dr. McEwen DC with his 20+ years of experience help you understand how chiropractic care can benefit you and your family.
What is chiropractic care?
The word “chiropractic” is derived from the Greek words “chiro” (hand) and “praktos” (done) combined to mean “done by hand”. Chiropractic care is the art of using spinal optimization techniques and therapies to alleviate a wide variety of physical ailments, including but not limited to neck pain, back pain, muscle strains, many headaches, even “migraines”, arm/leg pain/numbness, and much more.
Can chiropractic care help you?
Only if you have a spine! If you do, then the advanced techniques and therapies we utilize in our office can help your spine function at its best. You’ve only got one spine and you’ve got to live the rest of your life with it so let us optimize its functioning for your best quality of life!
What Kind of Training Does a Chiropractor Have?
Doctors of Chiropractic (DC) go through a minimum of four years of post graduate education at an accredited chiropractic college, after an undergraduate degree in the basic sciences. Chiropractic students must then complete a minimum of 4,200 classroom hours followed by a minimum of 1,000 hours of fully supervised clinical training under a qualified instructor as they learn specialized diagnostic procedures and effective treatment techniques to help heal the body and restore it to its natural, fully functioning state.
